Resin preservation method

The adsorption resin is usually stored in wet state, and the temperature of the storage place is usually 0-40 ℃. When the storage temperature is lower than 0 ℃, clear saturated salt water shall be added to the packaging bag to soak the resin. If exposed to the air, the resin may be partially dried and dehydrated. Because most of the adsorption resins are hydrophobic, in order to rehydrate the resin, the partially dehydrated adsorption resin shall be fully soaked in methanol or other water-soluble solvents (such as ethanol and acetone). After the immersion, the methanol shall be washed and replaced with water.

Resin pretreatment

In the production process of adsorption resin, industrial raw materials are generally used, and the product has not been further purified. Therefore, a small amount of monomers, porogens and other organic impurities are often left inside the resin, so pretreatment must be carried out before use.

The pretreatment method of adsorption resin is as follows:

1. Immerse the new resin to be used in the column with methanol or other water-soluble solvent (such as ethanol and acetone) of about 2 times of the volume for 2 hours, and stir it from time to time to make the resin fully swelling.

2. Install the fully expanded adsorption resin into the column, pass 5-8 times of methanol or other water-soluble solvents (such as ethanol and acetone) through the resin layer at a flow rate of 3-4 times of the bed volume per hour until the effluent is diluted with water and immiscible.

3. After alcohol treatment, deionized water will pass through the resin layer at a flow rate of 6-8 times the bed volume per hour, and then methanol can be replaced and put into use.
